An Overview of Quebec City’s New Tramway

An overview of Quebec City’s proposed new tramway, something all out civic and provincial politicians should see.

In the new design for Quebec City's tramway network, northbound vehicular traffic will be redirected, leaving more space for pedestrians on De la Couronne Street. (Ville du Québec)

In Toronto yesterday the TTC did a pre-shutdown of the Scarborough RT, otherwise known as Line #3 due to an impending but massive snow storm. Yes, the Skytrain technology is so hamstrung by snow and freezing rain, the TTC shut Line #3 before the storm started and just ran replacement buses to avoid the later service issues resulting from shutting the line down during the blizzard. Notice the streetcars/Light Rail lines are kept running because they can handle nearly all but the most extreme snow storms. This is one reason Quebec City chose LRT and not Skytrains.
