Charlie Smith has another good article in the Georgia Straight about transit and transportation in the region and of course the comments are well worth a read.

  1. Justin Bernard says:

Good luck! $4 Billion for a underground light metro line is nuts.

Zweisystem replies: The $4 billion is Zweisystem’s estimate from Broadway SkyTrain station to UBC – The SkyTrain Lobby/TransLink are saying $2 billion to $3 billion.

Costs for subway construction range from $125 million/km to over $500 million/km. and that was a decade ago!

From Susan Heyes lawsuit, we know that the cost of the RAV/Canada Line exceeds $2.5 billion but, the provincial government and InTransit BC refuse to divulge costs and I believe there are several court cases trying to get costs from InTransit BC.
